We know that great stories open up worlds to readers. Strategies that increase fluency and improve comprehension ensure readers can access those worlds. Whatever your child's literacy needs, ReadUp! is here for you!
ReadUp! is owned and run by a former teacher with over ten years of teaching experience and seven years of private tutoring. She also has a Master's in the Art of Teaching Reading and Writing and is a State Certified Intervention Specialist.
After determining your child's strengths and areas for growth, lessons and activities will focus on those areas. Each lesson will center on a skill or strategy and include a game or interactive activity. Progress will be monitored and copies of the lesson and the session notes provided to the family.
Tutoring is more than just addressing challenges or needs. ReadUp! is here for literacy development regardless of skill level: reading strategies, genre study, reading-writing connections.
Alphabetical principle, phonological and phonemic awareness, fluency and comprehension skills - ReadUp! will focus on the strengths and needs of your child.
ReadUp! is available for standardized and informal assessments. Progress monitoring is also an essential part of our tutoring programs.
